Professor Kuang Liqun is a retired Chinese physician, memory advocate and the 2011 Senior World Champion at the 20th World Memory Championships. After developing symptoms consistent with the early stages of Alzheimer's disease in her seventies, she combined conventional medical treatment with intensive mnemonic training under leading Chinese memory coaches. Through disciplined daily practice, she dramatically improved her memory and cognitive performance, ultimately winning the World Memory Championships' Senior Category against international competitors. Since then, Professor Kuang has devoted herself to promoting memory training and lifelong cognitive health, particularly among older adults, believing that systematic mental exercise can help preserve independence, confidence and quality of life. Her remarkable personal story has become an inspiring example within the international memory sports community and has been widely cited in discussions of brain health, ageing and the potential benefits of mnemonic training.
